Researchers have tried to find the difference between print and onscreen reading. The results are fuzzy. Some studies have found few difference between reading print and looking at screens.Others have found lower understanding and memory among screen readers.
In one of the studies, researchers gave some students a story, and told cone group it was not real and the other that in was real.Among those who thought it was not real, there was little difference between screen and print readers.Among those who thought they were reading facts, the screen readers had less sympathy (同感) and noticed fewer details.
On my morning train,I read my newspaper from an app. When I get into the office and read the print newspaper,I find I have read most of it- but not all. When I use an app,I read what I am interested in.When I read a print newspaper,I find myself reading things I did not know I was interested in.
Reading from a mobile phone is useful, but it is narrower than print.A newspaper offers broader vision. There is a good chance not only that you will come across unexpected information, but that you will connect it to other things you have read. This is important for those who want to know the opportunities and changes. However,it is not an either/or.You also have to get into the digital world(數(shù)字世界)to know how it affects the world. When I meet a young digital native who reads print newspapers,I believe they have a great future.

  • 2.Can anyone be an astronaut?
Of course not.You don't have to have a science degree but most astronauts do.Most of them are pilots too.Life in a spaceship is hard so you must have a healthy body and mind. You need to be easy-going,patient,and helpful to spend so much time in a small space with other people.
       What's the training like?
People have to train for a year to learn how to stay healthy and safe. They practise space walking and living in zero gravity(重力).They train in difficult conditions to learn how to solve problems and to work in a team.Everyday tasks like eating, washing and sleeping can be difficult on a spaceship. There is no running water so you have to wash with wet tissues:it's hard to enjoy the dry food that astronauts have to eat.And to sleep you must cover your eyes because the sun rises every 90 minutes on the International Space Station. You also have to tie yourself to something so you don't fly away!
What health problems do astronauts have?
Life in zero gravity causes changes to our bodies.Bones and muscles(肌肉)become thin and weak so you must do a lot of exercise in space to stay fit and to help the heart move blood around your body.Astronauts often get backache because you grow in space— up to 8 centimeters! It's also common to have headaches and to feel sick, especially at the beginning. You must have vitamins to take the place of fresh fruit and vegetables. But you don't have to put on sun cream because space suits can protect your skin (皮膚).
       Are you still interested?

  • 3.Height is just one of the thousands of features your genes (基因) decide. In fact, because you have two parents, your genes provide you a height that usually lands somewhere between the height of each parent. If both your parents are tall, then most probably you will be tall, too. If you have questions about how tall you're going to be,ask your doctor if he or she can help you find it out.
But genes don't decide everything. For example, eating an unhealthy diet can keep you from
growing to your full potential(潛力).Getting plenty of sleep and enough exercise will help you grow to the expected height.
No doubt you're wondering how fast you should grow.It depends. There's no perfect or right answer,Generally speaking, kids grow about two inches(six centimeters) a year between age three and the time when they start puberty
Your doctor will know how your growth has been going over the years. Two centimeters here and two inches there are not nearly as important as the height you're at now,how you've been growing up to this point, and what other changes your body may be going through.
Don't be nervous if you seem to have grown a lot in a very short time.Everyone has a growth spurt (高峰) during puberty. The age for starting puberty is about 10 for girls and about 11 for boys. But it can be earlier or later, between 7 and 13 for girls and 9 and 15 for boys.
You'll usually begin to notice that you're growing faster about a year or so after your body starts to show the first changes of puberty.
