  • 3.Historically,most cars have run on gas,but that may change in the future:cars can also run on other liquid fuels" and electricity.
Gasoline is from oil.The energy in gasoline comes from hydrocarbons".Gasoline provides great power for cars. However,it causes environmental problems, like air pollution and temperature rise.So gasoline can't be the best fuel.
Another choice is electricity.Electricity cars can be as efficient' as cars using gasoline. And they produce less pollution. But electric cars themselves are more expensive.Good news is that the cost has been lower and there are more and more places for the cars to get electricity ever since 2010.
The other choices are other liquid fuels. Many of these can be stored in the same places as gasoline, and used in the same cars. They can also be friendly to the environment.
One way to make such fuels is to get CO2 from the air and put it in water.Through chemical reaction, hydrocarbons can be created. However, these fuels take up more space.
Another way is to make such fuels from plants which take in carbon from the air. These fuels are greener in use.But not all of them can be as efficient as gasoline.
For a fuel to be the best, people have to be able to afford it.Unluckily, almost every green technology is more expensive than that of using gasoline.Governments and car producers are doing everything they can to cut down the costs. In the end,the best fuel will be both affordable for car users and green for our planet.

(2)According to Paragraph 3,we can infer that(推斷) electric cars
    .
    A.produce less pollution
B.will become more and more expensive
    C.will become more popular
D.are more efficient than those using gasoline
(3)The structure of the passage may be
    .
    A.菁優(yōu)網(wǎng)
    B.菁優(yōu)網(wǎng)
    C.菁優(yōu)網(wǎng)

  • 菁優(yōu)網(wǎng)5.In today's climate, industries often talk about the new popular word of this age,big data.Big data refers to data in general, mostly unorganized and unstructured. The use of big data has huge potential for various industries, healthcare included.Facebook and Amazon, for example, use big data for their digital structures to match customers with their interests. Some experts in discussing big data have described it as the four Vs:Volume referring to a large amount of data;Velocity referring to the timely generation of data;Variety referring to the many forms of data;Veracity referring to the quality of the data.
Some researchers discussed the potential of big data in medicine recently. For example, big data
can be used to improve decision- making when combined with other new technology like artificial intelligence(AI).It is possible that big data can combine clinical characteristics, lifestyle and environmental factors with AI in future clinical testing. However, this remains just a daydream at the present moment. So far,all big data techniques are mainly descriptive. In the future, with advanced computational power, using big data in medicine is promising.
However, big data also has its limitations, and there are several lessons we must learn before using it effectively.First, big data is never well- managed and comes with a large degree of mess. Thus, selecting the correct technology with human power to manage big data is of importance.Second, analytic companies can misinterpret big data by using incorrect research questions to test their guesses or using the wrong tool to analyze the related data, resulting in delivering false messages.
Surgisphere,an American analytic company,is a typical example of what can go wrong through the analysis of big data.Surgisphere stated that it collected data from over 1000 hospitals worldwide.Although this is possible and new technology can complete this task with minimal human resources,it is difficult that this data can be well managed. In addition, healthcare data is challenging to work with,as the combining of electronic medical records and data privacy are major problems.Another example is the Cambridge analytic case, where data got from Facebook was used without permission.
When properly used, big data can be a game changer for various industries, including the healthcare industry. This requires well-managed data, related research questions, appropriate analytic tools, and advanced computational powers. In the wrong hands, big data can be a big threat that can bring industries into disorder as a whole.

(1)According to the passage,F(xiàn)acebook and Amazon use big data to
    .
    A.set up their healthcare industry
    B.correct their digital structures
    C.meet customers' preferences
    D.increase the amount of data
(2)What can we learn from the passage?

A.Big data in medicine can be used well with improved computational power.
B.Medical records and data privacy are well- managed in health care.
C.The data was misleading in the Cambridge analytic case.
D.Amazon used the related data without false messages.
(3)What is the writer's main purpose in writing this passage?

A.To question whether the data companies can help to improve decision-making.
B.To show industries can benefit from big data technology with its proper use.
C.To prove data can be fully depended on with advanced analytic tools.
D.To explain why people can make full use of big data technology.
(4)Which of the following would be the best title for the passage?

    A.Big Data:a Game-changer
    B.Big Data:a New Popular Word
C.Big Data:a Coin with Two Sides
D.Big Data:a New Age for Medicine

    組卷:3引用:1難度:0.2

三、任務型閱讀根據(jù)短文內容,從方框中所給選項中選出能填入空白處(第1- 5題)的最佳選項。選項中有一項為多余選項。

  • 6. (1)
Hopes, ambitions, dreams. How many of yours will you achieve? When you look back at your life in the future, will you have good memories of all the things that you did?Or will you regret all the things that you didn't do?
Of course, there's no easy road to success, but one thing is certain:success won't come if you don't do anything. So how do you do it?This four -step model will help you to make your dreams come true.
       Step 1:(2)

What would you like to do?Write down all your ambitions. They may be very general, such as I would like to be fitter.I want to be famous,or it would be nice to have more friends.Or they may be more specific, like I've always wanted to play a musical instrument.
       Step 2: (3)

Now you need to do two things:
①Choose one or two ambitions. If you try to do everything, you won't do anything.
②Set a time limit. This is very important, because you will have a goal and you will also know when you have reached it.
So,for example,I would like to be fitter in Step 1 now becomes I will be fit enough to join a half- marathon race by the end of August.
       Step 3: (4)

Now that you've made your choice, what are you actually going to do to achieve your goal? So,in our example,I will be fit enough to join a half-marathon race by the end of August, becomes I'm going to join a running club,or I'm going to go jogging three times a week.
       Step 4: (5)

This is when you change your intentions into specific actions.Prepare to do something at a specific time.If you don't do this, your dreams and plans will just stay as dreams and plans. So now I'm going to join a running club, becomes I'm meeting the president of the Cheetahs Running Club on Monday evening at 5:30.
Don't let your ambitions die.Follow this four-step plan and make your dream come true.

    A.Change I would like to ...to I will ...
    B.Change I did...to I do ...
    C.How to be successful
    D.Change I'm going to ...to I'm doing ...on...at ...
    E.Think about your ambitions
    F.Change I will ...to I'm going to…

    組卷:3引用:2難度:0.5

B.用方框中所給單詞的適當形式填空,每詞僅用一次(每空一詞)。

  • 17.

How do you prefer to get in(1)
with your friends?Send a message or make a phone call?If you want to feel more connected to the people you're talking to,you should call them instead of sending messages, according to a study shown in the Journal of Experimental Psychology.
Many people think phone calls are a bit(2)
.They like to send messages because they can(3)
exactly what they' re texting and think about it before they send it.
But on the other hand, texting can make it hard to understand the true(4)
