A few years ago，I was taking up a job at a local shop.While giving an old woman an ice cream she bought，I found she had a box of what seemed to be purple tomatoes.I wanted to know what they were really were.But I didn't know how to start my question.Would she refuse my curiosity directly or just keep silent，even with a look of disgust（反感）？
After a struggle（斗爭(zhēng)） in my heart，I decided to encourage myself to catch the last minute.As I handed her the things，I said， "Those tomatoes look delicious!What kind are they？"
She smiled and replied， "Here，have some!" Within seconds I had a lot of tomatoes. "Oh，no，you don't need to give me any!" I said.Those tomatoes looked expensive. "Here，have more，" she insisted（堅(jiān)持說(shuō)） ，and now I had six of the fattest，prettiest tomatoes I had ever seen.I tried to refuse， " Really，you don't have to give me any，but I appreciate it."
The woman smiled again and said， " I hope you enjoy them.And to answer your question，it's an heirloom breed（傳家寶品種）that my mom used to plant.So they aren't like the ones you get in the store."
I thanked her again，and she left.She was like an adult in a story：I gave her ice cream and she gave me purple tomatoes.
