Claire Wyatt,a 24-year-old British volunteer, led eight Cambodians living with disabilities on a 155-mile bike ride from Phnom Penh, the nation's capital,to Siem Reap to raise money and deliver supplies to those in need in the coronavirus pandemic(新冠病毒大流行).
"Leading this trip was an incredibly special experience for me," said Claire. "Not only was I encouraged by the determination of each and every rider, but also the team taught me every day not to focus on their disability."
When she was first asked to lead the trip,Claire admitted, she was feeling nervous about her team traveling such a distance in just a few days because cycling with a disability can come with added physical and emotional challenges.
One team member named Dy,who lost an arm in an accident, biked using just one arm to balance.Another named Vulta could only pedal on one side due to polio(小兒麻痹).Despite all the difficulties,Claire realized quickly that she didn't have to worry about her team. She saw them deal with rough area that she had seen abled cyclists give up on before.
The volunteers covered the distance in just four days, not only helping so many people across the country, but also overcoming huge difficulties to get there.
"The best thing about this ride is that the riders have all volunteered their time to do this. They are so enthusiastic about Cambodia and raising money for others in need," said Claire. "The money raised will feed 99 families in Siem Reap."
Claire recalled her favorite moment of the experience, when one of the cyclists pushed an exhausted teammate up a hill for 2 miles. "One moment that stood out for me was when Naret, our only female rider, was feeling tired," she said. "Her fellow rider gently put his hand on her back and pushed her for 2 miles! They were encouraging each other to push through the tiredness."
(1)Why did Claire and eight Cambodians cycle 155 miles?
A.To challenge themselves.
B.To help out needy people.
C.To take part in a competition.
D.To raise money for the disabled.
(2)What worried Claire before the ride?
A.She might be injured on the road.
B.She would be unable to lead the team.
C.Her team might be looked down on.
D.Her team couldn't finish the route.

A.Confident,calm and friendly.

Despite the common appearing of tablet computers and e-readers,we simply cannot break our addiction to paper. An estimated four billion trees are cut down every year to make paper or cardboard,an energy-consuming process with a vast environmental footprint. Now chemist Yadong Yin of the University of California,Riverside, and his colleagues have developed "rewritable" paper that could help control
that impact
.
Printed rewritable paper is made using Prussian blue nanoparticles (納米粒子).The researchers coated conventional paper with nanoparticles of two chemicals:Prussian blue that gives blueprints their characteristic color, and titanium dioxide (二氧化鈦),a substance used in sunscreens.
UV light makes the titanium dioxide nanoparticles donate electrons(電子)to their Prussian blue neighbors, shifting its color from midnight blue to milky white.
By shining that UV light through a transparent(透明的) screen marked with black text, the researchers "printed" blue text on a white background. The text lasts about five days and then naturally fades away:"Every morning I could just push a button, and a printer would give me a fresh newspaper to read over breakfast," Yin says.
The paper can also be reset by heating and reused more than 80 times,a significant improvement over previous types of rewritable paper. "The key advantages are high reusability and stability, easy handling and low cost," says Sean X.Zhang,a materials scientist at Jilin University in China, who was not involved in the study but has also worked on developing rewritable paper.By comparison, technologies such as electronic ink-used for Amazon's Kindle Paperwhite-involve moving charged black-and-white particles around, which requires electronics.
Since reporting their invention in Nano Letters early this year, the scientists have used a digital projector to replace their transparent screen. They are now working on increasing the number of times the paper can be reused.Zhang says a key difficulty will be persuading companies to develop the unconventional UV control needed for widespread use.Even though commercialization could be a few years away,Yin says, "We've had a lot of discussions with industry investors."
(1)What does the underlined "that impact" in the first paragraph refer to?
A.Human beings' addiction to paper.
B.Common appearance of e-readers.
C.Green and sustainable environment.
D.A vast environmental footprint.
(2)What are paragraphs 2-4 mainly about?
A.Working principles of the new invention.
B.Comparison between different papers.
C.Key benefits of the new invention.
D.The function of UV light.
(3)Sean X.Zhang probably agrees that the invention is
.
A.expensive
B.unreliable
C.conventional
D.eco-friendly
(4)What might be the best title for the text?
A.Print,wipe,rewrite
B.The nanotech commercialized
C.The history of paper
D.Reduce,reuse,recycle

Mary waited anxiously for her turn in the empty dressing room. Never had she been so nervous before. This competition was of vital importance to her comeback ."If I can win today," she said to herself, "I can dance on the national stage next month." Three months ago, her left arm was seriously injured in a car accident. After the medical treatment , she began to recover slowly. She practiced over and over again in order to regain her dancing skills.
"Hi, Mary," in rushed her friend Jessica. "How is your arm? Is it going to influence your performance?"
"I guess it can be tolerated for I am to win the match . " said Mary with a determined look.
"Admirable! But I hear that a girl called Linda is really gifted and strong. She can be your real well-matched competitor. Come on!"
After Jessica left, Mary decided to practice her most difficult spin . "If I don't try harder, I won't grasp this chance." She thought. But her arm began to hurt, making her worried. "Mary, what makes you think you have a chance tonight?" she said to herself. After the pain was gone, she continued to warm up.
A slim girl hurried in and put down an equipment bag on the chair. Then, she took out her dance dress quickly and put it on skillfully. Seeing Mary, she smiled politely and said "Hi, I'm Linda. I am the next one!" Mary nodded in reply but felt uncomfortable. "This is just my competitor. Because of her, I may lose tonight." Her mind was wandering when Linda let out a scream, "Oh, God, I can't find my music tape!" Linda searched her bag but in vain . "It may be missing on the way." With these words, she then rushed out.
Paragraph 1:
Suddenly, Mary caught sight of a black box under the chair where Linda put her bag._________________
Paragraph 2:
Hearing her name called, Mary walked on the stage with her heart beating faster and faster._____________
